L'artista

The soundtrack to Academy Award and Golden Globe winning film Forrest Gump contains music from many well known artists. The soundtrack peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart in 1994, and stayed there for seven weeks. The surprise hit of the 1994 summer movie season traces the life of a half-wit through the major historical events of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. The soundtrack is a travelogue of the same period, from Elvis Presley's 1956 hit 'Hound Dog' to Bob Seger's 1980 hit 'Against the Wind'. Like the movie, the soundtrack to Forrest Gump succeeds at repackaging the familiar - in the film, we revisit everything from desegregation and the Vietnam War to the self-centered trends of the 1970s and on the soundtrack we hear the accompanying hits.

Music On Vinyl solitamente produce buone ristampe in vinile e in questo caso il risultato è, a mio parere, ottimo. La qualità all'ascolto è buona ed il packaging è sopra alla media delle stampe attuali: una busta in plastica trasparente dallo spessore consistente, apribile e richiudibile con un lembo pieghevole, contiene la copertina (in carta opaca ma con le figure e le scritte lucide ed in rilievo) dove ci sono i due vinili dentro a buste stampate (con i titoli e i crediti e qualche foto). Veramente un prodotto bello, realizzato con cura e da avere in una collezione di vinili.
La colonna sonora in sè è fantastica:una compilation di brani e autori di vari generi che hanno fatto la storia della musica made in USA, e che spazia dagli anni '50 agli anni '70.

Bellissima la confezione e stupende le canzoni! Si sentono bene, non abbiamo riscontrato alcun difetto. Un regalo che è piaciuto davvero moltissimo!

Alcuni pezzi sono registrati male... e si sente... inizialmente inviato solo la copertina senza i vinili dentro..poi amazon ovviamente si è rifatta... il due stelle è riferito che alcuni pezzi sono registrati con i piedi.

Obviamente una gran mezcla de canciones de una película clásica. Buen empaque. Y el vinilo juega bien. No es un sonido sorprendente, pero es mucho mejor que otras nuevas ediciones de reediciones. en general muy feliz.

Zugegeben: Die meisten Songs auf der Scheibe fallen unter die Rubrik "Amerikanische Schlager aus dem letzten Jahrhundert".
Aber auch zugegeben: Es sind halt echte Klassiker, die man bei Gelegenheit gerne mal auflegt, und sei es, um in guten Erinnerungen zu schwelgen.

Platten wie den O.S.T. zu Forrest Gump hole ich gerne ins Haus, um mit einem einzigen Kauf einen gute Sammlung von Songs zu haben, die eine bestimmte Zeit und die darin lebenden Menschen geprägt haben.

Eine gute Scheibe, weil die Auswahl der Songs gut getroffen ist.

Okay, let's skip the part where I tell you about how good the songs are or what my opinion of the movie is. You don't care. You already love and know the soundtrack and have your own thoughts. I can assure you, however, that the packaging for this release is nothing short of completely satisfying. Believe it or not, this is the very first vinyl pressing: the movie and soundtrack arrived as cassettes were dying out and CD was the obvious (only) choice of format. For this vinyl pressing. someone took a great deal of care to package it so as to not disappoint; a red, white, and blue record to match each sleeve, heavy pressing and good sound. My record plays on a Music Hall 5.1 with B & W speakers. No complaints on the audio quality. The record sleeve is rich with colour and detail, with a subtle mix of gloss and flat finish and a slight raise in the picture and font that almost trick the eye into seeing 3D. For serious vinyl collectors I would recommend static-free sleeves as the paper ones it arrives in are the standard issue crap. Also, the record is too thick for a regular plastic sleeve, so keep that in mind for storage. All in all, great value for the music lover and vinyl collector alike.
